WCAG 2.1 Level AA

This website strives to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

Our Commitment

Greater Las Vegas Dental wants every patient to be able to learn about our care, contact us and prepare for a visit online. We are committed to making this website accessible to people with disabilities, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or voice control, and we keep improving it for everyone.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 (opens in new tab) at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, and conforming to them helps us meet our obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Conformance status: partially conformant. Some content, listed under Known Limitations below, may not yet fully meet the standard. We are working to close those gaps.

What We’ve Done

  • A “Skip to main content” link on every page to bypass the menu (WCAG 2.4.1)
  • Descriptive alternative text on informative images; decorative images are hidden from screen readers (1.1.1)
  • Text and buttons meet the 4.5:1 minimum color contrast ratio (1.4.3)
  • The current page in the menu is marked by an underline as well as color (1.4.1)
  • Every part of the site works with a keyboard, including the menus, before-and-after sliders and testimonial carousels (2.1.1)
  • Menus follow the accessible disclosure pattern: they announce whether they are open, and close with the Escape key (4.1.2)
  • A clearly visible focus outline on every link, button and form field (2.4.7)
  • Form fields have labels, required fields are identified, and errors and confirmations are announced (1.3.1, 3.3.1, 4.1.3)
  • Links that open a new tab say so to screen reader users (3.2.5)
  • Headings and landmarks (header, navigation, main content, footer) give each page a clear structure (1.3.1, 2.4.6)
  • Pages reflow to a single column on phones and can be zoomed to 200% without loss of content (1.4.4, 1.4.10)
  • Animations and autoplaying video are turned off for visitors who ask their device to reduce motion, and video has controls (2.2.2, 2.3.3)
  • The page language is declared so assistive technology pronounces content correctly (3.1.1)

Every page is checked with the axe-core automated accessibility test against WCAG 2.1 A and AA, along with manual keyboard testing.

Known Limitations

  • Our downloadable patient forms are PDF files that may not be fully accessible. Call us and we will go through the forms with you over the phone or provide them in another format.
  • The embedded Google map, and our pages on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X and Yelp, are provided by third parties with their own accessibility policies.
